Rev. John Barton of Cambridge (1836-1908) was vicar of Holy Trinity Church, Cambridge from 1877-1894 and is still visible in a stained glass window there (see below).

Stained glass window and plaque
To the left of the altar is a stained glass window bearing the image of Rev. John Barton (doing missionary work in India) and a plaque with the following inscription:
"TO THE GLORY OF GOD
AND IN THANKFUL REMEMBRANCE OF
JOHN BARTON.
M.A. OF CHRISTS COLLEGE
MISSIONARY IN INDIA. 1860-1876.
VICAR OF THIS PARISH. 1877-1894.
WHOSE LIFE AND INFLUENCE INSPIRED MANY STUDENTS OF THIS UNIVERSITY
TO DEDICATE THEIR LIVES TO THE SERVICE OF GOD
BOTH AT HOME AND ABROAD.
HAVING SERVED HIS GENERATION BY THE WILL OF GOD,
HE FELL ASLEEP. NOV 26TH. 1908.
THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY HIS EIGHT CHILDREN
TO THE BELOVED MEMORY OF THEIR FATHER, COUNSELLOR, AND FRIEND."
